Two companies looking for diamonds at a site east of Prince Albert have announced plans to merge.
Kensington Resources and Shore Gold are joining forces in a move designed to bolster their fortunes regarding the Fort a la Corne diamond mine project.
For the past three years, the two companies have been drilling test hole in the region in an effort to determine the viability of a mine in the area.
So far, no concrete plans to build a diamond mine have been announced — but officials say results look promising.
The site is located just a few kilometres from the reserve of the James Smith Cree Nation.
Band members have been told they will likely get jobs if a mine is developed.
