A provincial civil servant familiar to several northern leaders has been promoted.

Alan Parkinson, who served as the deputy minister of Northern Affairs from 2002 until 2004, is now the deputy minister of Saskatchewan Environment.

He had previously been the department’s associate deputy minister.

Parkinson replaces Lily Stonehouse, who is moving over to the department of Government Relations.
