A provincial court judge has ordered a former Metis Nation of Saskatchewan area director to stand trial on a charge of forgery.

Henry Cummings appeared in a North Battleford courtroom yesterday, where a judge determined enough evidence exists to send the matter on to Court of Queen’s Bench.

Cummings is accused of committing forgery in relation to the 2004 MNS election.

Eight other people have also been charged in connection to the affair.

Prior to the charge, Cummings served as an MNS area director in Saskatoon.
