Former La Ronge Boat Dealers Fined For Fraud

Two people from La Ronge have pleaded guilty to fraud over $5,000 in relation to a scam involving boats and motors.

The RCMP say 57-year-old Mark Quandt and 51-year-old Pauline Quandt were getting customers to return merchandise to a local business under false pretenses.

According to the Mounties, they were trying to convince customers to give back the products without the knowledge of the company that originally supplied them.

As a result, they have been ordered to repay $131,000 to Bombardier Capital Limited.

The two were sentenced on August 26th.
