Former Fond du Lac Band Councillor Going to Jail

A former band councillor for the Fond du Lac First Nation has been sentenced to 18 months in jail for severely beating another man in Prince Albert this past spring.
34-year-old Kevin Bruce Mercredi pleaded guilty to several charges on Friday in connection to an incident that saw him beat another man for about half-an-hour.
The beating took place during a house party at a city residence on May 21st.
