Members of the English River First Nation have decided to bring back a familiar name as their new chief.
Archie Campbell, who last served as chief four years ago, won yesterday’s election — defeating four other candidates, including incumbent chief Tobie Aubichon.
One of his rivals, incumbent councillor Etienne Black, still managed to hang on to his seat on council, as did fellow incumbents Marie Black and Frankie Campbell.
New faces on the English River band council include another former chief — Alfred Dawatsare — Gloria Apesis and Andrew Gunn.
The incumbent councillors voted out of office were Pat Campbell, Ronald Campbell and Cynthia John.
All of the winners will serve a two-year term in office.
