People involved with the province’s forest industry are being invited to join a new group.

The Association of Saskatchewan Forestry Professionals was created six weeks ago through government legislation.

The group is designed to acknowledge the expertise and know-how of forest managers, whether they be in fire-control, insect and disease work or just forest planning.

Association Registrar Roman Orynik says the association will be a win-win for everyone.

He estimates there are about 150 forest-managers throughout the province. He’s hoping as many join as possible.
