A firefighting team from Saskatchewan’s Far North has captured this year’s provincial Aboriginal firefighting competition.
The Fond du Lac team won the overall title Saturday afternoon in Prince Albert.
Although trained by the same people that won the Canadian title last year, the squad was composed of entirely new members.
Second place was won by Black Lake Team 1, while third spot went to Black Lake Team 2.
A team from Sturgeon Lake also took part in the competition.
The winning team will now represent the province in the national competition in Hobbema, Alberta on August 22nd.
