Fond du Lac Firefighters Enjoy Success

Some volunteer firefighters from Fond du Lac are heading to British Columbia next month for a national fire fighting competition involving First Nations from around the country.

Last week, the team entered a non-native competition called Fire Power in Saskatoon and beat out eight other teams for first place.

Firefighting Team One coach Georgie McDonald says the Saskatoon firefighters didn’t expect a team new to the competition to win.

Team One also came in first earlier this month at the Provincial Native Volunteer Fire Fighting Competition in Onion Lake.
