A walking poker rally is taking place today in Fond du Lac.

Today’s event is intended for elders aged 60 years and over.

The poker rally sees participants walking from the clinic, to the band office, the cafe and the Northern Store, and then back to the clinic.

However, at each stop they get to cut a deck of playing cards and pick one.

At the end of the walk the person with the best hand wins a prize.

Sylvia Martens is a community health rep with the clinic in Fond du Lac.

She says the poker rally is a good way to make the walk interesting.

First prize in today’s contest is a return ticket to Prince Albert.

The walk goes until 5 p.m.
