It appears board expenses at the First Nations University of Canada are significantly higher than at other universities.
The Saskatchewan News Network says it has obtained documents that show the FNUC has budgeted almost $613,000 in board expenditures.
In comparison, the province’s two largest universities spend between $70,000 and $90,000 on their boards.
An FNUC spokesperson says the board spending at her university is legitimate — noting that the forensic audit ordered earlier this year cost $320,000 alone.
Tina Pelletier also points out that the First Nations University board is much larger than other boards.
