A student from First Nations University in Regina is this year’s recipient for the Red Cross Humanitarian Award.

Thomas Benjoe won the award for his positive involvement with Aboriginal communities.

Benjoe says he is honoured to receive the award.

His advice for youth interested in following the same path is to “always try to give back as much as you can.”

“The more you give back, the more good things come your way,” Benjoe says.

Benjoe will recieve the award at the Centennial Humanitarian Gala next month.

Proceeds from the gala will go to First Nation and Métis communities and programming.
