There are reports another high-ranking official at the First Nations University of Canada has been fired.

Students at the Saskatoon campus of the university held a protest rally and press conference this afternoon to denounce the apparent dismissal of the campus’ dean, Dr. Winona Wheeler.

Student council secretary Jenny Gardipy say acting university president Charles Pratt and three colleagues personally delivered a notice of dismissal to Wheeler this morning.

Gardipy says some students are dropping classes and demanding a return of their tuition as a show of protest.

No one from the university has been immediately available for comment.
