Fiss Elected Mayor In Stony Rapids

The residents of the Athabasca community of Stony Rapids have elected a new mayor.

Curtis Fiss defeated Alex Sayn by a vote count of 92 to 42 in yesterday’s by-election.

The by-election was needed following the resignation of former mayor Victor Robillard a couple of months ago.

Robillard cited personal reasons for leaving office.
