Fishing Lake Teen Robbery Suspect Eludes RCMP

RCMP are continuing their search for a 16-year-old youth on the Fishing Lake First Nation.

The male, who cannot be named, is wanted on charges of armed robbery, escaping lawful custody and other offences.

RCMP spokesperson Heather Russell says they received a tip he was on the reserve earlier this week.

However, so far, there is no sign of the youth.

Russell says the emergency response team was called in, due to the fact some of the robberies involved firearms.

Russell notes the search has been scaled back to a certain degree, but uniformed patrolmen are still on the reserve.

She also says the Mounties may ask a judge if they can release the name of the youth if the suspect remains at large.
