The President of the Northern Saskatchewan Fishermen’s Co-op says the group is still determined to build a fish processing plant in Prince Albert.

However, John Carriere says the facility will likely be much smaller in scale than originally planned.

Fishers from around the North recently held their annual meeting where they discussed this and many other issues at length.

Carriere says the Provincial Government re-affirmed its support for the plant as well, meaning something should get built.

Carriere says an independent marketing review concluded opportunities do still exist for northern fishers

Also at the meeting, Jonas Bird of the Lac La Ronge Indian Band was elected to the Board of Directors.
