A two-day meeting between organizers of a proposed fish processing plant in Prince Albert and potential stakeholders has wrapped up.

Representatives from both the Prince Albert Grand Council and Indian and Northern Affairs were present for the talks.

Saskatchewan Co-operative Fisheries business consultant Merle Hewison says one disappointment was the absence of the Western Business Development Bank of Canada, but says they have already agreed to attend a future meeting.

Hewison acknowledges the process of attaining funds needed to build the plant is time-consuming, but claims steady progress is being made.

The next hurdle for the plant organizers comes next Friday in Saskatoon when they sit down with the president of the Freshwater Fish Marketing Corporation.
