The Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations is not saying much about why two senior officials at the First Nations University of Canada were suspended yesterday.
The CBC is reporting that the two suspended managers are vice-president of administration Wes Stevenson and finance director Kim Sinclair.
As well, several other employees in the university’s finance, human resources and information technology departments were abruptly ordered to leave their desks yesterday.
There are also reports that several locks at the university were changed.
The FSIN has a permanent place on the university’s board, and has issued a statement saying that the institution has asked outside auditors to conduct a review.
FSIN Vice Chief Morley Watson says “there are no allegations made against anyone and no one is accused of any wrongdoing”.
He also says he won’t be making any further comments until the review is complete.
