Ten Saskatchewan First Nations have signed a deal to become the province’s second-largest supplier of electricity behind SaskPower.

The project is being led by the Gordon and Cowessess First Nations.

The bands plan to erect wind turbines on their land.

The provincial government wants 30 per cent electricity in Saskatchewan to be wind generated.

First Nations believe they can supply most of it.
