The executive director of Indian Oil and Gas Canada made a recruitment pitch yesterday to students in Saskatoon.

Strater Crowfoot spoke to students at the Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies.

He says the oil and gas industry is growing — especially in Saskatchewan — and says there are lots of opportunities for jobs, especially for First Nations and any business those reserves own.

IOGC manages oil and gas resources on designated reserve lands across the country.

More than 300 reserves are designated, and 120 have active oil and gas agreements.

Last year, there was drilling on four Saskatchewan reserves.
