First Nations Elders’ Annual Meeting Nears End

An annual elders’ forum for Saskatchewan First Nations is wrapping up today in Saskatoon.
The three-day gathering has been hosted by the Saskatchewan Indian Cultural Centre.
Tribal groups like the Dene, Plains Cree, Swampy Cree, Woodland Cree, Dakota and Nakota have been represented at the event.
The establishment of an elders’ network and a look at the SICC’s Keeping House initiative have been two of the main topics in the discussion groups.
Later today, there will be panel presentation on the residential schools.
