The federal government has announced that a First Ministers meeting with Aboriginal leaders will take place this November in Vancouver.

The gathering will be attended by Prime Minister Paul Martin and the premiers.

The Liberals say it will help launch a new relationship between the government and Aboriginal people.

Published reports indicate the government will be announcing several measures and injecting billions of dollars in new funding to create a large middle class of Native people.
