Firearm Weilding Suspect Creates Scare in La Ronge

La Ronge RCMP were unsuccessful in apprehending a man weilding a firearm on a La Ronge Reserve last (Sunday) night.
RCMP responded to calls around 8 pm Sunday evening of a man allegedly roaming around the community’s Far reserve with what appeared to be a rifle.
Corporal Brian Jones of RCMP Media Services says there are conflicting reports the man had a pellet gun in possession and was firing at birds.
As the suspect demonstrated erratic behavior witnesses say he appeared to be in danger of harming others or himself.
However, there were no reports of any injuries or property damage.
Jones says the individual has not yet been located. He went on to report a search of the area and surrounding bush and wooded areas turned up nothing.
Jones indicates La Ronge police are close to apprehending a suspect and their investigation continues.
