Fire North Of Key Lake Causing Smoke Problems

A fire situated north west of the Key Lake mine site is causing a few problems in the area.

Saskatchewan Environment spokesperson Jeanette Krayetski says the fire is located 5.7 kilometers northwest of the mine site.

She says the fire has generated a lot of smoke in the area, which could travel south if the wind picks up.

Krayetski says the fire is not traveling because of late night showers last night but that could quickly change in a matter of hours, especially with the dry, hot weather.

The situation is being monitored closely.
