A Big Island Lake First Nation woman accused of manslaughter is expected to learn her fate on Monday.

Justice J.D. Cook reserved decision until then after hearing final arguments in a Battleford courtroom today.

22-year-old Lynette Sandfly is charged in connection with the death of 22-year-old Edwin Dufraine.

He died from stab wounds suffered during a scuffle between the two in November, 2006.

The Crown argued Sandfly didn’t have to stab him, that she could have protected herself in other ways.

Defence lawyer George Coombe said she had no choice.

Crown counsel Bob McCann has declined to be interviewed.
