The Sâkêwêwak Artists’ Collective is hosting the Critical Viewing Media and Performing Arts Festival in Regina this week.

It features Aboriginal multi-media artists from across Canada.

Elwood Jimmy is the program’s director.

He says the festival is about engaging and entertaining the audience while promoting Aboriginal media.

Tonight’s performance features award-winning emcee, producer and director Daybi with two new media works.

On Friday, there will be short films by emerging Aboriginal filmakers, including Saskatchewan’s own Thirza Cuthand.

All performances are at the MacKenzie Art Gallery in Regina.
