Prime minister Stephen Harper has declared the federal government will work with the province of Saskatchewan to accelerate the twinning of highway 11 between Saskatoon and Prince Albert.

Both Ottawa and the province say they will contribute 62 million dollars each to accelerate the project and move the completion date forward from 2016 to 2012.

Harper is in Saskatoon today where he will meet later with new Saskatchewan senator Pamela Wallin.
