The 4th annual “Santa Claus Takes Flight” event is set for take-off on December 14th to destinations in the province’s Athabasca basin.

Each year, Transwest Air flies Santa Claus to 4 communities in the Far North, with gifts for all the children.

Transwest spokesperson Naomi Boldt says the goal of the company is to give back to the Northern communities that have supported it in the past, while putting an emphasis on the children.

Boldt says every year the response is greater from the kids, who look forward to a visit from Santa Claus.

Boldt says over 12-hundred children will recieve gifts from Santa this year in the communities of Wollaston Lake, Black Lake, Stony Rapids and Fond du Lac.
