Camp Grizzly at Deschambault Lake will be the site of some traditional storytelling over the next few days.

Wes Fineday, Isadore Pelletier and Walter Albert are just some of the elders scheduled to make an appearance at the gathering, which is intended to give interested participants a chance to discover more about the traditional art.

Fineday says kinship stories, tales of power, and instruction in understanding the power of sound are just some of the topics that will be covered.

He says more First Nations citizens need to be educated about the true purpose of storytelling.

The workshops begin today and end on Saturday.

The event concludes with a feast on Sunday.
