Election Day On The Muskoday Reserve

A vote is taking place on the Muskoday First Nation today to determine who will serve as the chief and band councillors for the next few years.

Austin Bear, the incumbent chief of the band, is being challenged for his seat by Ted Bear, Berle Bear and Priscilla Bear.

Meanwhile, four of the five incumbent councillors are attempting to hang onto their jobs, as well.

A total of 18 candidates are in the running for those positions.

All of the contests are being run under the rules of the Indian Act.
