Election Day in Waterhen Lake

Members of the Waterhen Lake First Nation are headed to the polls today.

Six candidates have tossed their hats into the race for chief in the band’s election.

They include Dora Buxton, Michael Ernest, Judy Fiddler, Richard Fiddler, Robert Fiddler, and Emily Larocque.

As well, 30 candidates are in the hunt for six councillor seats — including all of the sitting incumbents.

The band will have a new chief after today, since long-time chief Sid Fiddler has decided not to seek re-election.
