Around 100 elders continue to march through west-central Saskatchewan today hoping to raise awareness about the dangers of drug and alcohol abuse.

The participants, who hail from a number of First Nations in the area, traveled as far as Glaslyn last night.

Co-organizer Wayne Ahenakew says the elders received strong support yesterday at Mistawasis and the Saulteux reserves and feel positive about the march.

Ahenakew adds wet weather has caused hardship for some elders, but they’re hoping for sunny skies the rest of the way.

The participants plan to finish at the Onion Lake First Nation by Sunday.
