Elderly Man Dies In English River House Fire

A 65-year-old man is dead following a fire on the English River First Nation early this morning.
RCMP and the local fire crew were on the scene at about 5:30 this morning, and found a house with flames visible through the windows and a cloud of smoke in the area.
The firefighters were able to get the blaze under control and enter the home, where they found the victim.
He was taken to a clinic and pronounced dead shortly afterward.
RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Mark Svaren says they are looking into the cause of the fire.
Svaren also says the coroner has indicated that an autopsy will take place.
