Eight Candidates Running For Little Pine Chief

The Little Pine First Nation is holding its election for chief and council today, and it looks like it’s going to be a long night for ballot counters.

 

Eight people are running for chief, and 34 people are running for council.

 

Incumbent chief Pat Bonaise is not seeking re-election.

 

In the running for his job are two former councillors, Carl Kennedy and Rachael Semaganis.

 

Others running for chief include Faron Baptiste, Eric Bear, Lloyd Bull, Ryan Pewapisconias, Wayne Semaganis and Ron Thunder.

 

Two incumbent councillors, Clifford Bear and Rusty Nighttraveller, are running for re-election.

 

Polls opened at 9 a.m. and will close at 8 p.m.
