Drug Strategy Consultations To Include North

A Saskatoon-based MLA admits that treating the problem of drug use in the North has its challenges, but he believes improvements can be made.

Graham Addley was recently selected to head up the province’s new strategy on how to deal with crystal meth and other addictions plaguing Saskatchewan.

He says every community has different concerns and, right now, he is touring different areas to get a better handle on the issues they are facing.

He notes crystal meth is a huge problem right now for the city of Prince Albert, but says the drug is relatively unheard of in Swift Current.

That’s why he says different prevention strategies will be needed for different areas.

Addley is hoping to have a comprehensive plan in place by the fall.

He says much of his northern strategy will be created with the help of local input.
