Driver Charged After Child Pedestrian Hit

An 18-year-old man is facing charges following an accident involving a small child in Saskatoon.

The 6-year-old girl was hit by a van at the intersection of Avenue H North and 29th Street just before 4:30 in the afternoon yesterday.

The van was apparently headed north on Avenue H when it made a right turn onto 29th, hitting the little girl.

The 18-year-old driver is charged under the Traffic Safety Act for disobeying a stop sign, and failing to yield to a pedestrian.
