A prominent Metis citizen says he’s confident no political shenanigans will be pulled at a Metis Nation Legislative Assembly later this month in Saskatoon.

Robert Doucette says too many grassroots Metis in the province want to see fair and democratic elections held.

As a result, he believes anyone who tries to circumvent that process will be held to account by the Metis people.

Doucette says everyone should realize by now that Saskatchewan Metis have lost countless dollars because they have no recognized leadership.

He adds the real challenge now is to get everyone on the voter registry.
