Double Murder Suspect Makes Court Appearance

A preliminary hearing continues in Prince Albert today for a Mistawasis band member accused of killing two people.

34-year-old Hubert Conrad Sand faces two counts of first-degree murder for allegedly taking the lives of 22-year-old Greg Whitefish and 34-year-old Dwayne Badger.

Police say the two men died of gunshot wounds the morning of September 19th.

Witnesses and evidence have been presented in court for much of the week. However, none of it can be reported due to a publication ban.

Band members from the reserve packed the courtroom yesterday.

The hearing is scheduled to wrap up on Friday.
