Band members at the Big River First Nation will soon be able to attend clinics on their reserve.

The Prince Albert/Parkland Health Region has secured the services of a doctor to provide medical treatment on a regular basis.

Dr. Solomon Vaska will hold clinics on the reserve Tuesday and Thursday afternoons.

Dr. Vaska will also be providing services at the village clinic Monday to Friday during normal office hours.

The health authority has struggled to keep physician services in place in the region for the last several months.

Band members have had to travel to Shellbrook and Prince Albert to see a doctor.
