Dissident Liberals Choose Own Executive

Around 60 people turned out for a meeting on Saturday to discuss the latest move in efforts to force a nomination process for the Liberal Party in Desnethe-Missinippi Churchill River.
Shoal Lake Chief Marcel Head was selected to be the group’s new executive president.
He says letters will be sent out to inform both Liberal Leader Stephane Dion and the Saskatchewan Liberal Association that a new Liberal executive has been elected for the northern riding.
Other northerners selected to the group include Alex Maurice as vice-president, Jackie Swiderski and Diane Iron as recording secretaries, Joe Durocher as treasurer, and Travis Durocher and Alison Iron as youth reps.
Head says there is still no serious thought being given to running a separate candidate should the Liberals fail to respond to their letters.
