Disgraced Mountie Resigns From Force

A disciplinary hearing that had been scheduled for a former Mountie convicted of sexual assault has been cancelled.
RCMP officials say Cst. Thierry Jacques has resigned from the force, which means there is no need for the hearing.
Last fall, Jacques was found guilty of assaulting a female prisoner at the La Ronge detachment in 2004.
He was sentenced to three years in prison.
