Officials at the Fort a’la Corne diamond exploration site are dismissing a flood that happened inside the site as routine.

Shore Gold spokesman Ken Read says no one was injured in the incident and the water is currently being pumped out.

He explains the water was released into the underground test site early Sunday morning after workers set off a planned explosion.

Read says the area will be sealed to prevent future leaks.

The site of the mining venture is located near the James Smith reserve.
