An official with Shore Gold says a mine could be operating within five years at the Fort a’la Corne diamond site east of Prince Albert.
Shore Gold vice-president of exploration George Read says shareholders should know by the end of next month what the dollar value is for a large section of land they have been testing.
Read says all the signs they’re receiving right now are positive, meaning a mine is very likely.
Reid says the mine could conceivably be worth as much as $9.4 billion.
The site is located just a few kilometres from the reserve of the James Smith Cree nation.
