Diamond Polishing Coming to Prince Albert

Prince Albert could soon be home to a school specializing in diamond-polishing.

Embee Diamond Technologies is moving ahead with plans to convert a downtown office building into a processing facility and school.

President Mike Botha says the Muskoday first nation will benefit from the arrangement through enhanced business opportunities and 4 spaces are also being set aside for bands within the Prince Albert grand council.

Botha notes the start-up of a diamond operation at nearby fort a’la corne would help matters but it’s not something he’s counting on.

There are only a handful of similar schools in North America and he hopes the school can be up and running by March.
