Diamond Exploration Firms To Vote On Merger

A decision should be reached tonight on whether or not two companies mining for diamonds near Prince Albert will be allowed to merge.

Shareholders with Kensington Resources must decide whether or not to accept a takeover bid by rival company Shore Gold.

For the past few years, the two groups have been exploring a patch of land just a few kilometres from the James Smith Cree Nation.

Kensington has been partially financed on the project by both Cameco and DeBeers.

Tonight’s meeting is taking place in Vancouver.
