Decision Delayed On Lawsuit Against Pankiw

A judge has reserved his decision in a lawsuit involving a former reporter and a controversial former Member of Parliament.
A hearing was held yesterday in Saskatoon in the defamation suit against former MP Jim Pankiw.
The civil action was filed by former Star-Phoenix reporter James Parker, who now works for Indian Affairs.
Parker claims he was defamed by Pankiw in a mailout the former MP mailed to thousands of his constituents in Saskatoon last year.
The leaflet said Parker was given the job at Indian Affairs as a reward for “years of praising the government’s race-based agenda while at The Star-Phoenix”.
