Death Of Infant At Onion Lake Sparks RCMP Probe

The RCMP are investigating the death of a three-month-old girl on the Onion Lake First Nation.

The name of the infant is not being released, and the cause of death has not yet been determined.

An autopsy has been ordered and will be performed in Saskatoon today.

RCMP spokesperson Sgt. Carole Raymond says the death took place early yesterday morning in a reserve residence.

The RCMP’s Saskatoon-based Major Crimes Unit and North Battleford-based Forensic ID Section have been called in to help investigate.

No arrests have been made.
