Dam Breach Planned Near Beauval

The Saskatchewan Watershed Authority says high water levels will force it to breach a section of the Lac La Plonge dam near Beauval on Monday.

The watershed authority says people using the area between the dam and the Beaver River should use caution as flows in the Riviere La Plonge will approximately triple.

Flows are expected to be high for the remainder of the summer.

The authority blames the situation on well above normal winter precipitation and a significant amount of rain in late May and early June.
