Dagenais Found Guilty On All Counts

There were cheers in a Saskatoon courtroom today as a man was found guilty of murdering two Mounties.

Curt Dagenais admitted during his three-week trial that he shot RCMP constables Marc Bourdages and Robin Cameron, but claimed it was in self-defence after a high-speed chase.

The jury didn’t buy it and convicted Dagenais of two counts of first-degree murder and one of attempting to murder a third officer.

Cameron’s father, Howard, says he is relieved by the verdict, but it won’t bring back his daughter and her partner.

He says their deaths could have been prevented if Dagenais had pulled over when the officers tried to stop him.

Dagenais showed no emotion as the verdict was read.
