Cumberland House Youth To Build Solar Home

Some students from Cumberland House are in Saskatoon this week learning about solar-powered homes.

That’s because they are going to build their own solar home.

Their teacher, Ron Chatterson, notes there is limited access to technology in remote communities such as theirs.

The students will work with an experienced designer and contractors — but the young people and their teacher will actually design and build the home.

It’s expected to be finished in a year.
